Memorial Scholarship Fund

Valerie Jane Hewson Wright, beloved McKinney Boyd nurse from 2006-2012, passed away this past January after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.  This scholarship fund was created to honor Val’s memory and her tireless efforts to not only care for her McKinney Boyd high school family, but also her community as a whole.  Val’s commitment and passion was unmatched.  She founded the V For Victory Foundation in 2012 and shortly thereafter invented the “Victory Pouch” that aided the recovery process of hundreds of cancer survivors across the globe.  Her legacy is extraordinary and lives on through her husband Roy and children, Katherine and Kevin, both of whom graduated from McKinney Boyd.

#knowledgeIsPower Campaign
from 25.00

100% of the dollars raised from this campaign will go towards our scholarship program. Each year our staff works diligently to provide McKinney ISD seniors with the assistance they need for post high school education. In 2018, the McKinney Education Foundation awarded over $475,000. With your help, we could provide many more opportunities for incredibly deserving students. Please help us provide an avenue to knowledge, where success awaits.
